What a gem of a find, from booking this hotel to checking out, the staff were amazing. After reading some of the reviews I emailed the hotel & asked for a kettle in the room, the replied to ask at reception on check in. We had another email back asking what time we would arrive, I let them know & in that reply also asked for a quiet room. We arrived & walked on to the most beautiful reception… after filling in the forms & paying for our room, without even asking we were told that a kettle had been put in our room, first ‘tick’ for amazing customer service. The receptionist then went on to show us & mark a map of all the must see tourists spots & places that the locals like to eat & drink, she also told us of a bus stop just behind the hotel ( outside the city walks ) We took a walk across a beautiful courtyard to our room & then the lift up to floor 1 .. room 235 … our room was spotlessly clean, with a bath & shower attached… Our kettle took pride of place with 2 cups & saucers .. & an assortment of tea bags .. we did bring our own from the uk though. There was also a fridge with 2 small bottles of water … we bought some milk later that day from the shop around the corner. Our Seville adventure was amazing & this hotel was a fabulous base … everything was within walking distance… we did walk a lot lol We didn’t choose the breakfast option as I thought €16 each was a bit steep … instead I sent my husband out each morning to a little bakery 2 minutes walk away for fresh warm croissants €5 for 2 and we are those in the room with our Yorkshire Tea. There is a roof top pool with sun loungers we popped up one afternoon for an hours chill in the sun … was a great little sun trap, would be nice if there were some tables & chairs up there to enjoy a drink in the sun. I would recommend this hotel to friends & family with no hesitation & if we were ever to return to Seville I would book again.

The public areas at the San Gil are lovely. We particularly liked the beautiful tiled Moorish-style reception and bar, the large breakfast room, and the rooftop pool and loungers, all of which were set around a gorgeous courtyard filled with orange trees. The staff were very helpful, and the location was good: a quiet side street about five minutes walk from a large area filled with bars and restaurants, and five minutes in the other direction to the old city walls and the Andalusian parliament building (from which you can catch the hop on hop off bus). To walk to the Cathedral, Palace, etc was about 25 minutes - a very pleasant walk through old streets. Breakfast was busy when we were there but the staff coped well, providing a good selection of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, bread etc. There was also a small hot food section (this changed each day but there was always scrambled eggs and bacon). If you are a cereal lover you might be disappointed as there were only two choices.

I had a great stay here. The location is perfect, you're about a 20-30 minute walk from everything or if you want, a quick taxi ride (but the walk is beautiful!). The area feels very safe and I felt comfortable walking around at all hours as a solo female traveller. My first night, there were some ants in my room and while they weren't able to change my room until the next day as they were full, they were very apologetic and sent housekeeping right away to spray the room. The next room was perfect. I ended up on the second floor and I will say that sound travels from the halls/downstairs/and possibly from the rooms next door (I couldn't really tell where it was coming from, but it did get loud at times). Otherwise, really lovely stay!

An attractive traditional property in a back street, lovely tiled courtyard, helpful staff. Tasteful room with bath and plenty of hot water. Roof terrace great for relaxing in late afternoon sun after sightseeing. Location close to Hercules square for lots of bars and eating places. Also v close to open top bus stop. Breakfast was comprehensive, lots of choice and delicious cakes! Pity no fresh orange juice in Seville! Staff very accommodating. Parking was extraordinary, a staff member came with us, we drove for about a mile, ended up in a lift, up to a tiny first floor cp… impossible for a bigger car than our renault. We descended the lift which magically opened into the hotel!

Lovely hotel with an inner courtyard where you could eat your meals or sit and relax . Food was very good, breakfast hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice. Made use of rooftop pool and sunbathed with lots of beds available. Room was reasonable size and clean and well maintained. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. Reception happy to give local information and service staff were attentive. Bar area typically Spanish, cool and tiled. I would definitely consider using again if staying in Seville. Based in old town area and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Local tapas were great and not expensive.
